: simple and plain
Definite from Merriam-Webster Dictionary
The road to doing this blog has been paved with many twist and turns. The good Lord has a way of providing for us or delivering us where we need to be regardless of our thoughts and plans. As I prayed before I began this process, I was touched and convicted that I wanted this blog and all that I post to be a blessing to all that read it. Family time is such a precious gift and choosing what to do with that gift is always reeked with stress especially if the choice cost a lot of money.
Most of us are always looking for ways to cut cost but want to do fun things with our family and for ourselves. This blog is dedicated to finding those options. I feel being frugal is a good use of the gifts we have been blessed to have. As the definition states we need to be careful about spending money or supplies. I make a promise to not promote the normal expensive family and self entertainment venues unless you can enjoy them at a much lower cost. Everyone knows where the ski slopes, concerts, sport games are located. I love all of these things but bottom line these entertainment options are expensive.
Also, I especially enjoy the second definition. We, as parents, feel we have to always have to plan fancy, fun,
and over the top functions to entertain our children but at the end of the day the kids just want to be with us. This is so convicting as we plan activities to keep them simple and plain. I have always felt that less was more and try to use that as I post and write in this blog.
Thank you for going on this journey with me. At the end of the day, I am a Christian, wife, mom, sister, daughter, friend who is just trying to make each day count. I will make mistakes and I will miss some things. I need accountability and I welcome you to send me suggestions or frugal finds that you see in the great city or nationwide.
